Assignment of Cell Phone or other Communication Devices

The Board recognizes the need for the use of district issued cell phones or other communication devices for specific positions and/or situations. The Board authorizes the Superintendent to develop procedures that outline the criteria and rules surrounding issuance of a district cell phone to staff members.

Cell phones or other communication devices may be assigned or made available on a permanent or temporary basis when it is determined that the assignment of a cell phone device is prudent use of District resources. Cell phones are provided specifically to carry out official District business when other means of communications are not readily available. These devices may not be used for routine personal communications except in emergencies.
